For us at AAV Allgemeiner Arbeitsschutz-Vertrieb GmbH, sustainability in occupational health and safety means: To take responsibility along the entire supply chain. These include durable products, transparent manufacturing processes and close cooperation with partners who share our values.
We work specifically with selected manufacturers and brands that stand for quality, social responsibility and sustainable business practices. Many of our partners have their Regularly evaluate company processes externally and meet recognized ESG standards (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance).
This ensures that occupational safety products are not only safe and functional, but also produced responsibly – traceable, tested, and designed for the long term. One example of this is manufacturers who have received EcoVadis ratings or impress with sustainable production concepts. In the area of safety shoes and workwear, we are also increasingly focusing on brands that, for example, use recycled or more resource-efficient materials, develop durable products, and continuously reduce their ecological footprint. Our goal is to offer you a product selection where safety, quality, and sustainability are meaningfully combined – without compromising everyday work.
Focus on sustainable products
In addition to reliable partnerships, we attach great importance to a responsible assortment. Especially in the field of safety shoes, hand protection and workwear, we are intensively involved with sustainable alternatives and stand by them in close exchange with leading manufacturers.
This is not about short-term trends, but about concrete questions: How can materials be used in a more resource-efficient way? Which production processes can be further optimized? And where can CO₂ reduction be implemented realistically, transparently and comprehensibly? Together with our partners, we are working to answer these questions transparently and to further develop sustainable solutions.

Our steps towards greater sustainability
We see sustainability as an ongoing process. That's why at AAV we take a step-by-step approach concrete actions to:
- Expansion of our range to include sustainably produced safety shoes and workwear
- Inclusion of selected CO₂-reduced or CO₂-neutral products
- For parcel shipping, we use GLS and its sustainability program KlimaProtect.
- Reuse of shipping cartons, where technically feasible
- Reduction of plastic due to fewer delivery note pockets and less strapping
- Digital invoicing by e-mail
- Resource-saving measures in administration and warehouse, e.g. through LED lighting
- Optimized advice to reduce returns through size advisors, digital support and personal advice
Packaging & Shipping
Efficient shipping solutions are an important part of our business processes. We reduce filling material and strapping tape, use space-saving packaging solutions, and reuse suitable shipping boxes whenever possible.
For parcel shipping, we work with established shipping service providers and utilize their offered sustainability programs. This way, we combine efficient shipping with a conscious use of resources.
Energy efficiency & CO₂ management
Sustainability is also reflected in our own actions. In offices and warehouses, AAV relies on modern LED technology, energy-efficient appliances and targeted savings measures in heating, lighting and electricity consumption.
All fluorescent tubes have already been completely replaced by LED lights – a measurable contribution to CO₂ reduction. In the future, we plan regular CO₂ balances with external partners, to make progress visible and identify further potential.
Responsibility in the supply chain
Sustainable occupational safety does not end at the factory gate. For decades, we have been working with manufacturers who actively live sustainability, quality and social responsibility.
As the lead dealer of the Semperguard brand in Germany, we are pleased about the EcoVadis Silver Rating from our partner Latexx Manufacturing (2023). Partners such as Portwest (EcoVadis Silver 2025) or Atlas also stand for responsible Corporate governance and transparent processes.
These partnerships underline our commitment to fair, Traceable and sustainable supply chains that reduce risk, promote innovation and enable sustainable progress.
Our plans for the future
Sustainability does not remain lip service at AAV Allgemeiner Arbeitsschutz-Vertrieb GmbH. Our next steps include:
- Establishment of an internal Green Team
- Introduction of regular sustainability reporting
- Cooperation on CO₂ accounting and climate communication
- Development of reusable and recycling concepts for shipping
- Transparent product labelling in the AAV shop (e.g. filters for sustainable PPE)
